Original artwork in finest oil. In Greek mythology Icarus attempted to escape from Crete by means of a pair of wings fashioned by his father using feathers and wax. Icarus was warned not to fly too close to the sun because the wax would melt, but he did not heed his father’s warning, consequently the wax melted, the wings disintegrated and he plummeted back down to earth. The rich vibrant use of colour complemented by the rustic styled frame in shades of grey make a stunning statement piece.
